Randy Thompson, Chair
Randy and Lanie moved to Colorado Springs in 1999 by direction of the Air Force. Randy retired from the Air Force in 2006 and works in the defense sector as a consultant. They homeschooled their children, becoming part of the Collegium Study Center shortly after it was founded.
Their youngest attended ECA from freshman year to graduation and their oldest granddaughter is a student at the Lower School. Randy served on the Collegium board and then served on the ECA board prior to his current term. He is passionate about Classical Christian education. He has a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Science and a Master’s in Biblical Studies. He is a ruling elder at Village Seven Presbyterian Church.
Chris Stroup, Vice Chair
Chris, an ECA alumnus from the class of ’99, and his wife, Amy, are proud parents of an Evangel alumnus, Micah (Class of ’25) and two students at the Upper Campus: Livia (Class of ’28), and Calvin (Class of ’30).
After graduating from ECA, Chris earned a BA in Biblical Studies from Biola University, a MA in Religion (Bible) from Yale Divinity School, and a PhD in New Testament and Christian Origins from Boston University. He is currently the President and CEO of Anglican House Publishers, a ministry partner of the Anglican Church in North America, and serves as President of the Joy to the World Foundation. An ordained Anglican priest, Chris serves at Restoration Anglican Church, a church plant south of downtown Colorado Springs. Before returning to Colorado in 2018, Chris worked as the assistant editor of New Testament Abstracts and an assistant research professor of New Testament at the School of Theology and Ministry at Boston College, where he continues as a Visiting Scholar.
Chris and Amy are deeply committed to classical Christian education and have seen its impact on their own children at Collegium and ECA. They are passionate about promoting a Christian vision of flourishing in education, both in their family and globally.
Andy Pyrch, Secretary
Andy Pyrch is a proud ECA parent. He and his wife Jenni have four children. He currently serves part-time as an assistant pastor at Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church, is an Army reservist and is a project manager for Collins Aerospace. His family
moved to Colorado Springs in 2015. He has experience in the corporate world and in the military. He is a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America and worships with his family at Cheyenne Mountain Presbyterian Church.
Tara Seegers, Treasurer
Tara Seegers serves the ECA community as Chair of the Finance Committee and on-campus volunteer. She is an ECA Elementary parent and works professionally as a Wealth Manager in the Financial Services industry, guiding multigenerational families. Tara holds a master’s degree in Business Management and has served in various board capacities across nonprofit organizations in Colorado and Texas since 2010.
Born and raised in Canada, Tara has lived in the US since 2008. She and her husband, Chris, chose Colorado Springs as the ideal place to raise their young family and plant long-term roots – initiating their move in 2020. ECA and the mission of this school was an important component of our decision, and we are so pleased with how the school pours into the lives of our children with Christ at the center. Adrian Olson, Development Committee Chair
Adrian is originally from Cheyenne, Wyoming. He grew up in a Christian home and was blessed to receive a K-12 Christian education. At age 16, he entered into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He graduated in 1998 as part of the inaugural class of Noah Webster Christian School. Adrian earned his degree from MidAmerica Nazarene University.
In 2002, Adrian married his wife, Kimberly. In 2010, he made a significant career transition, leaving an engineering role at a Fortune 500 company to enter the Christian nonprofit sector.
This career change brought Adrian and his family to Colorado Springs in 2010. Adrian and Kimberly have one son, Christopher, who is currently in 5th grade. Christopher has attended Evangel Christian Academy (ECA) since pre-K, and we feel deeply blessed to call ECA his school home.
Adrian brings 15 years of experience in the nonprofit world, having served in roles ranging from Development Director to CEO. He also owns and operates a local small business in Colorado Springs, which has deepened his understanding of entrepreneurship, community engagement, and financial stewardship. His expertise includes donor development, nonprofit leadership and governance, budgeting, and strategic planning.
Adrian is passionate about ensuring ECA thrives both in the immediate future and for generations to come.
Matt Pirmann
Matt grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. He attended the Air Force Academy straight out of high school, but after 2 years, left and returned to MI to finish his bachelor’s degree. A few years later, he enlisted in the Army; toward the end of that time, he married Sara, also from the Detroit area. Matt took the first job he could get out of the Army – a defense contractor position in rural Sierra Vista, AZ.
Matt grew up attending a small, Christian school K-12 while Sara attended public schools; they made the early and easy decision to commit their children to Christian education and are all in on classical. Matt and Sara have three girls: Charlotte, Savannah and Emerson. With a 3 year old and an 11 month old, they moved to Colorado Springs in 2017 when Matt took a position with Compassion International.
Matt holds three master’s degrees and also runs a local, small business. Matt and his family have worshipped at Woodmen Valley Chapel since they arrived in Colorado Springs. Matt joined the ECA board in early 2025 and has a passion and vision for ECA to become the best education in Colorado because it is classical and most importantly because it is Christian.
Katie Carter
Katie Carter moved to Colorado with her family in 2022, looking for an ideal place to raise her children. She and her husband, Scott, found the culture of Colorado Springs just the environment desired to raise their (now) three children.
After many years wondering what talents God granted her, Katie discovered it is, and always has been, centered around people. After graduating from the University of the Pacific with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing and minor in Studio Art, she found a career completely off her radar in Human Resources. She seemingly fell into this discipline by “mistake” when Google reached out about a recruiting job, but now she understands it was God guiding her to an immensely rewarding career serving people.
From there, Katie entered Silicon Valley’s fast-paced, start-up world, where she has consistently supported the people behind the technology through building human-centric organizations (what she fondly calls People Success). Katie has earned several HR designations, including the SHRM-SCP, PHR, and GPHR, and currently serves as a member of the executive team at Elementum. When not attending church functions, supporting her daughter’s classical Christian school, or chasing her three children, she is often found at the barn perfecting the art of keeping a horse between her and the ground.
